Sign-up and account

Who can sign up?
Any adult (aged 18 or over) who is single, sincerely looking to get married and accepts our Terms of Use.
How do I sign up?
All you need is a valid email address and a password, then you answer a short profile questionnaire: city, origins, languages spoken, practice, description. A code sent by email verifies your address, which is required to access the service.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Each person may create only one account. Multiple registrations may lead to the suspension of all the accounts concerned.
Is a photo required?
No, it is optional. Profiles with a photo do, however, receive far more visits and messages. Each photo must show your face, and only one person.
Can I edit my profile after signing up?
Yes, at any time from your account: description, photos, situation, habits and search preferences.

Free and Premium

Is Meetarabic free?
Signing up, creating your profile, searching and receiving messages are free. Some messaging features are reserved for the Premium plan.
Can I use the site without a subscription?
Yes. Everything you need to get an idea is free: creating your profile, discovering members, liking profiles and exchanging messages within the limits of the free version.
How do I stop a subscription?
From the “My subscription” section of your account. The subscription remains active until the end of the current period and is then not renewed.

Safety and moderation

Are profiles verified?
Yes. Every new or edited bio and photo is moderated immediately. Moderation stays active at all times: any member can report a profile in one click, and reports are handled within 1 hour.
How does moderation work?
It combines automated tools and a human team. A description or photo that breaks the rules can be rejected, an account suspended, or permanently deleted in the event of a serious breach.
How do I report a profile?
From the conversation, using “Report this profile” and giving the reason, or through the Contact page (reason “Report a user”). Our moderators are alerted, and reports are handled within 1 hour.
Can I block a member?
Yes. A blocked member can no longer write to you and you no longer see their profile. You can unblock them at any time from your list of blocked users.
What is not allowed on Meetarabic?
Identity theft; illegal, abusive, sexual or discriminatory content; harassment; commercial or advertising use; and posting personal contact details (phone, email, social media) in your profile description.
What precautions should I take?
Never share money or bank details, take the time to get to know someone before meeting, and report any suspicious behaviour. Meetarabic cannot be held responsible for members' behaviour outside the platform.
Are minors allowed?
No. The service is strictly reserved for people aged 18 and over. An account opened by a minor is deleted as soon as it is discovered. Our commitments are detailed on the Child Safety Standards page.

Marriage and the halal approach

Is Meetarabic only for people who want to get married?
Yes, that is its whole purpose. Each member states what they are looking for and their vision of marriage, so conversations start on a clear footing.
Can I involve my family or my wali?
Yes, and many members do. When and how you involve your loved ones or your wali is up to you: the site lets you move at your own pace, with gradual conversations and photos you can keep private.
Can I state my religious practice?
Yes. Your religious practice, your origins and the languages you speak can appear on your profile and in your preferences. This information is optional: you can choose not to answer.
Is the site suited to a halal approach?
It was designed for it: a stated intention to marry, private photos, audio calls only with both people's consent, and moderation that keeps out inappropriate behaviour. The framework you set for yourself remains yours.

Using the site

How do I search for profiles?
From the “Explorer” tab, by city and age, or by keyword (username, city, description). Our city and country pages also introduce the local community.
How do likes work?
You can like the profiles that interest you. When the interest is mutual, it's a match, and the conversation can start in private messaging.
How do I talk to a member?
Through private messaging, where you can also react to messages. You receive a notification for new messages, likes and visits.
Can we call each other on Meetarabic?
Yes, with built-in audio calls. A mutual consent system ensures everyone stays in control of their communications.
Is there an app?
Yes, the Meetarabic app is available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). The site can also be used in a browser, on desktop or mobile.
What is the Community space?
A feed where members post advice, questions and experiences, comment and follow other members. Posts are moderated and can be reported.

Privacy and data

Are my photos visible to everyone?
Not if you don't want them to be: your photos can stay blurred and be revealed only to the members you give access to.
Who can see my profile?
Only registered members can see your public profile: username, photos, description and city. Your personal data is never sold.
Is my information about origin and religion protected?
Yes. Answering is optional. If you provide it, it is processed with your explicit consent, solely to suggest compatible profiles and display it on your profile. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting these answers.
What are my rights over my data?
Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection. Everything is detailed in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
From your profile settings, or by sending a request through the Contact page, which is processed within 30 days at most. Deletion is irreversible: your photos are deleted and your personal data anonymised.

Community

Where do members live?
Mainly in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and the Maghreb. Discover, for example, Muslim dating in Paris, in Brussels, Geneva, Montreal or Morocco.
Do I need to be of Arab or Maghrebi origin?
No. Meetarabic is for the whole Muslim community, whatever their origins, converts included. Everyone can state their origins and languages, and search according to their own criteria.
